The Public Holidays Act 2008 (‘PHA 2008’) stipulates that a SHOP may open during any Public Holiday as listed above or any declarations by the Head of State on the advice of
Cabinet from time to time. Schools and places of employment shall be closed for all operations except the ‘exempted services’ as outlined in the PHA 2008.
The employers and workers are to comply with section 39 of the Labour and Employment Relations Act 2013 for any work carried out during the Public Holidays.
